I have a Uniden SDS100 scanner however the only software available for programming and firmware and database updates is Windows only. Sigh. I’m a Mac guy. Wineskin to the rescue. Download Wineskin and double click.

Now Pick a Game That You Wanna Port on Wineskin. Before you even make the wrapper you'll need. Wineskin Winery is a tool for Wineskin. It is the only downloadable part of Wineskin needed. Manage and download Engines, or even custom build engines from Wine source code. Get Master Wrapper.

Click on Create New Blank Wrapper and give it a name.

Wineskin Winery for Mac, free and safe download. Wineskin Winery latest version: Use Windows programs on Mac OS X. Wineskin Winery is a free and ope. Launch Wineskin and click the little plus icon under engines. Select the engine you wish to download and install under available engines and click download and install. Install a custom engine created by someone else. If there is a installer click install If there isn't follow these instructions 1.

It takes a minute or so for the wrapper to make itself.

Now that makes the wrapper. Drag the wrapper to your desktop or wherever you want to store it.

Now right click on “Sentinel” and Open Package Contents.

Double click the Wineskin file

It opens a box and then click install software.

Then Copy a Folder Inside

Navigate to the downloaded folder for Sentinel you downloaded earlier. Once you copy that inside then go back and click “Advanced” and set in the photo below.

Then hit Set Screen Options and configure as below.

Now Double Click Sentinel and install the program. Once it installs then you need to find the executable file and change it in the configuration screen.

Once you do all this and you launch the program it will forever try to install. Now that you’ve installed it you need to move the executable. To Program Files > Uniden > BCDx36HP Sentinel/BCDx36HP_Sentinel.exe

Close everything and you should be able to double click the Sentinel Wrapper and launch the program. Choose SDS100 and OK.

And then Sentinel is ready to rock and roll.

Many pieces of software used for astronomy do not have equivalents that can be used by those of us running OSX on macintosh computers. I have made a few wineskin wrapped versions of the software that I am currently using and I have made them available here for you.

You must first download Wineskin Winery and install it.

You can then wrap Software such as Registax and AutoStakkert so that they will run almost seamlessly in OSX. If you want to skip this step, you still need to install wineskin winery, but you can use the wineskin wrapped versions of Registax and AutoStakkert that I’ve prepared below. They are currently running without issue on OSX 10.10.

Download Registax 6.1.0.8 packaged in Wine for OSX.

Download AutoStakkert 2.3.0.21 packaged in Wine for OSX. This wrapper has the windows ffmpeg executables already installed that will allow you to import .mov files without having to transcode them.
